Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

Vanilla CB

Hey there! How are you all doing? I hope you’re all doing well.

As for myself, I was just done with my finals and I really thought that I’d still have some time to rest a bit–but of course, life is unfair and I wasn’t able to get even a week’s worth of rest.

I am quite stressed out right now especially after having a not-so-emergency “emergency flight” to Manila in order to attend an interview for my internship. The plane fare was super expensive, the trip was on the same freakin’ day as my interview–and on top of all that, I’m broke and breaking out.

And yes, I passed the interview so even if I was broke (I’m using “was” but TBH I’m still broke), I still celebrated with a cupcake and a cup of coffee.

The interview was in Alabang so I went straight to Alabang Town Center. There, I found one of the cutest cafes I’ve seen so far: Vanilla Cupcake Bakery.

Buon Gelato Cafe Review

My mother and I recently went on a date. (Yep… My mother is my only date). We were just walking around the mall and I needed some caffeine so we decided to try this cafe out.

Upon walking in, I immediately noticed the post-Valentine’s Day remnants on the decor. It irked me a bit since Valentine’s is long gone and so should the decorations be… But with that aside, the place is pretty nice. And by “nice” I mean it’s Instagrammable.

The price of coffee in Buon Gelato ranges from P80 to a little over P100 only ($2-$3). It’s pretty cheap and it’s quite nice too. I ordered a latte and was not disappointed. My mom’s cappuccino was nice too.

Zatazza Cafe Review

Zatazza Cafe

So I recently met up with an old friend and we planned to catch up over some coffee. We originally wanted to try out Madge Cafe in their Atria District Park branch since we’ve been hearing so many good reviews about it––all from the price (which I’ve heard only ranges from 55-a bit over 70 per cup), coffee, and place but unfortunately, as expected from a popular place like so, it was fulled to the brim when we got there.

And that’s how we ended up barging in to Zatazza Cafe.

Zark’s Burger Iloilo Review

Zark’s Burger Iloilo is located at the New Wing, Lower Ground floor of SM City Iloilo. It’s famous for its tagline: “The greasier the better.” But is it really?

The place is pretty standard. They have good decor: red walls, photos of champions (which I think supports the whole ‘gigantic burgers’ and ‘food for the champ’ concept of this restaurant), and of course a frame of people who won the burger challenges. We came here on a Sunday and a lunch time, and I know that it’s understandable that we don’t get a seat right away… but it was a bit disappointing to see some staff walking past the podium without even acknowledging our presence or asking if we were able to have a reservation already. We (me and my family) stood in front of the podium for a full 2 minutes before my mom called the attention of a crew member to ask for a seat. Once seated though, a staff immediately cleared the table and gave us the menu.

Me, my mom, and my sister all ordered the Zark’s Ultimate Burger (1/4 pound Cheeseburger with cheese sauce on a bed of fresh veggies, topped with sauteed mushrooms and bacon) for ₱150.00 each. While my brother got the Jawbreaker (Triple Cheeseburger with spam, bacon, and overflowing cheese sauce) which is also served with 400g of fries for only ₱290.00 but you can get for free if you finish it within 5 minutes.

For all the Minor League Burgers, you’d have to add  ₱35.00 for fries and drinks and add ₱60.00 for fries and bottomless drinks. For Major League Burgers on the other hand, all you need to do is add ₱35.00 to get bottomless drinks since it’s all served with fries already.
